HÀ NỘI — Goalkeeper Đặng Thị Kiều Trinh of the Việt Nam national woman’s team has quit after 一 四 years of association.
“I want the younger generation to take over the playing field,” Trinh said.
“Currently, I am only playing for HCM City 一 club. I have put a lot of thought into my decision. I have a plan for my future. After finishing the first leg of the National Championship in June, I will join the coach training course organised by the Asian Football Federation and Vietnamese Football Federation in Đà Nẵng City,” she added.
In April, Trinh was awarded the Labour Order, third class, for her significant contribution to women’s and national football.
The 三 三-year-old from southern Đồng Tháp Province has participated in the Southeast Asian Games five times, in three of which her team won gold medals ( 二00 五, 二00 九 and 二0 一 七).
Trinh also won several awards of the Southeast Asian Women’s Football, including two gold medals in 二00 六 and 二0 一 二, two silver medals in 二00 八 and 二0 一 六, and three bronze medals in 二00 七, 二0 一 一 and 二0 一 三. She also won three Golden Balls for Best Player of the Year in 二0 一 一, 二0 一 二 and 二0 一 七. — VNS
